Austin Bertrand Wins 2nd Place at State USBC Chamionship!
5/6/2013Austin Bertrand, 8th grader at OLOM placed 2nd in the 2013 Louisiana State USBC (United States Bowling Congress) Pepsi Sponsored State Championship Tournament, held in Bossier City April 27th and 28th. Austin competed in the Boys age 12-15 category, bowling 13 games during the 2 day tournament, averaging a score of 185. There were 70 bowlers in his division from all over Louisiana. After the first and second set of qualifying rounds, Austin was seeded in 1st place. During the final match he took 2nd place, by only one pin difference! Austin represented his bowling center, Don Carters/All Star Lanes, Baton Rouge where he bowls as a team member on a Saturday morning Junior League and Sunday evening Pro Shot League. This was a huge accomplishment for Austin as he pursues the sport of bowling. Congratulations Austin!
